HILLSBORO, Ore. -- Andre Jehan, owner of the 23-store Pizza Schmizza chain in Portland has found a way to be at all his restaurants at once -- sort of.

According to the Hillsboro Argus, he's using the Internet to invite Pizza Schmizza customers to review his restaurants.

By clicking on either Schmizza's Web site customers can give their opinions about food, service, cleanliness, value and "loiterability" of any Pizza Schmizza restaurant.

Store managers were apprehensive at first, but they've since found of the most reviews positive.

"The reviews validated them," says Jehan. "Not only that, it meant I didn't have to be the nagging bad guy."

He said the reviews are the first item on the agenda each Wednesday morning managers' meeting.

"The reviews tell us what to focus on for improvements, but they can mean positive strokes for employees, too," he said. "But what's really nice about the Web site reviews is I don't have to be 20 places at once. I can really get a feel for how things are going by reading the reviews every night."
