KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia—QSR Brands Bhd will invest RM12 million (U.S. $3.2 million) to open 16 Pizza Hut outlets this year.
According to The Star, managing director Datuk Johari Abdul Ghani said the cost of setting up a Pizza Hut in the country is about RM750,000 (U.S. $197,000).
"We want to increase our presence in new suburban areas, as most of our outlets were already located in urban areas," Johari said.
Pizza Hut has 100 outlets in Malaysia, making it the country's largest pizza chain.
Johari said Pizza Hut expects to post a double-digit sales growth this year.
