Sales slide at Pizza Hut continues in November

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Tricon Global Restaurants, Inc., parent company of Pizza Hut, reported today that the pizza category leader's sales dropped 6 percent in November. This follows sharp declines of 10 percent in October and 6 percent in September.

Tricon posted modest gains of 2 percent in blended U.S. same-store sales for the month. Sales at Pizza Hut's sister companies, Taco Bell and KFC, were up 8 percent and 5 percent respectively during the period, which ended Dec. 1. Tricon's international business reported year-to-date system-sales growth of 9 percent, prior to foreign currency conversion, 2 percent after conversion.
