Sam & Louie's joins campaign to end childhood hunger

Sam & Louie's has partnered up with the "Spring into Action" campaign in Omaha, Neb., the first collaborative city-wide food and fund drive aimed at ending childhood hunger.

Along with the mayor's office and the faith community in Omaha, Sam & Louie's has partnered with Heartland Hope Mission, Together and Heart Ministry Center, the three largest food pantries in the city. The group is asking for kid-friendly, nutritious food donations children can prepare for themselves each day during summer months when free or reduced school meal plans are not available.

Food donations will be taken at any area Sam & Louie's restaurant location through May 31. The restaurants will also offer coupon incentives to those who come in with donations.

The Sam & Louie's Corporation is headquartered in Nebraska, opening the first restaurant in 1994 in Omaha, and now has 23 locations throughout Nebraska, Iowa, Montana and South Dakota. The menu features New York-style pizza, along with pastas, hoagies, stromboli, calzones, salads, burgers, chicken sandwiches and a gluten-free menu.
