Secret 'herb' seasoning lands pizzeria employee in jail

LEBANON, Ohio -- Harlan "Colonel" Sanders' secret "11 herbs and spices" made him rich and famous. But the one herb sold in secret by Chubby's Pizza employee David Kilpatrick has made him infamous.

According to The Cincinnati Enquirer, if a customer requested "special seasonings" for their pizzas or hoagies at Chubby's, they got marijuana.

Warren County Task Force commander John Burke told the paper on July 2 that Kilpatrick, 39, was arrested for trafficking in marijuana following a six-month investigation of the restaurant.

After police received numerous complaints of drug trafficking at the shop, undercover agents made three visits to the store.

Chubby's owner Dennis Hoff said he hopes the arrest won't hurt his business. Kilpatrick is his cousin and had worked at the business for 17 years, sometimes managing it when Hoff was away.

"This has nothing to do with Chubby's Pizza," Hoff said. "... It was just a private thing he was doing, and we weren't aware of it."
