JALAN NANAS, Malaysia -- SHAKEY'S Restaurants Sdn Bhd, which operates pizza and fried chicken restaurant chains under the same name, has launched a RM200,000 (about U.S. $53,000) "La Pazzia Italiana" promo touting the company's newest pizzas and pasta sauces.
According to The Star, Ba U Shan-Ting, Shakey's director of operations and marketing, said the company wants to showcase the roots of Italian cooking with the new offerings.
"What is unique about our latest pizza offering lies very much in the dough," Ba U said. "Developed specifically for this promotion, we have endeavored to remain true to the classic Italian pizza, hand stretching the dough to its 12-inch diameter, resulting in a pizza crust that is not too thick or too thin."
The promotion offers four La Pazzia Pizzas: Tropicana Tocchino (turkey and ham with pineapple); Pepperoni Manzo (beef pepperoni, peppers, eggplant and onion); Siciliana (eggplant, capsicums onions and olives); and the Classico (anchovies, tomatoes, green peppers and olives).
Included in the new pasta sauce offerings are: Carbonara (with chicken); DiPomodoro (creamy tomato sauce with chicken); Vegetariano (tomato-based sauce with eggplant, mushroom, spinach and peppers); and Bolognaise.
