Social Blends launches low-calorie, on-tap cocktails

While craft beer is becoming more popular in fast casual restaurants, it's often marketed to men, leaving out many female customers who may prefer other types of on-tap drinks, said Rich Simon, co-founder/managing partner of Social Blends, which recently launched Slim Lizzy's Cocktails.

"Most tap offerings are full-flavored (full calorie) malt beers geared predominantly toward the male consumer, neglecting a large base of female customers in search of a beverage with the same convenience and price of a draft beer, but malt-free with fewer calories," he said. "Slim Lizzy's Keg Cocktails provides a simple solution to draught menus everywhere."

Slim Lizzy's Cocktails come in 6th Barrel Kegs constructed out of 100-percent recyclable PVC, which means no keg exchange program is needed. The kegs integrate seamlessly with existing tap systems and do not require any additional attention than that of a keg of beer. In addition to being gluten-free, Slim Lizzy's Cocktails contain half the calories of the leading national "skinny" brand, with only 45 calories per 4.5-ounce serving, Simon said.

"We've spent a great deal of time working with an expert team of mixologists out of Houston to develop a number of delicious recipes using Slim Lizzy's Cosmopolitan and Margarita.
