POS provider SpeedLine Solutions Inc. this week introduced its new LiveMaps feature, which offers live map data, including mobile maps for pizza delivery drivers, delivery zone options and live digital wall maps.
SpeedLine will offer all new and existing customers a 90-day free trial of the new mapping solution.
"LiveMaps leapfrogs existing delivery mapping solutions, combining live data with easy map editing for new developments — and reducing costs by eliminating ongoing maintenance charges," said Terry Haan, vice president of Development.
According to a news release, the feature includes an expeditor view on an optional second display to speed up dispatching. Restaurants can improve delivery times with maps and directions sent to drivers' phones. Delivery restaurants can also replace their maps with a live digital map of current deliveries and zones displayed on a wall-mounted TV.
"It's dynamic, changing as orders go in and out, so managers, expeditors, drivers, and counter staff can see delivery volume and current orders at a glance," Haan said. "Pizza and delivery operators can define delivery zones and fees in multiple ways in the new Live Maps interface, even setting zones by drive time, more accurately reflecting fuel and labor costs."
The feature verifies addresses via geocode, to reduce delivery errors and build a customer database for direct marketing initiatives. And, the new mapping solution also provides heat map views to give operators new insight into market reach, purchase trends and delivery performance by neighborhood or zone.
