ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — SpeedLine Solutions
announced the rollout of its OrderLink Gateway addition to its core POS software product at the Northeast Pizza Show, held here Sept. 13-14.
According to a news release, OrderLink Gateway integrates orders from the Internet, third-party call centers or voice-automated systems with a POS system running SpeedLine software.
"The real benefit of OrderLink Gateway is that it allows restaurant operators and chains to integrate existing Web sites or third-party call centers — or choose their own remote ordering service or Web developer," said Terry Haan, SpeedLine vice president of development. "When you've already invested in a Web site or a relationship with a trusted service provider, the last thing you want to hear is that to add online ordering, you have to start over from scratch. OrderLink Gateway gives restaurant operators the freedom of choice."
Through OrderLink Gateway's XML pipeline, Speedline can accept orders from Web sites, remote call centers, drive-thru ordering services, automated voice-ordering systems or even self-service kiosks. Communication is two-way, allowing instant order confirmation.
SpeedLine marketing manager Jennifer Wiebe said research shows patrons who order online or through a professional call center tend to order more than they would have had they called the pizza store directly.
