SSP America names new general counsel

SSP America, which operates food and beverage brands in travel locations worldwide, has named Jagpreet (Jag) Singh as general counsel and member of the company's leadership team.

With more than 15 years of commercial legal experience, Singh comes to SSP from Venable LLP in Washington, D.C., where he served as a partner to the firm's corporate group providing counsel on all aspects of corporate and commercial activity. Singh will oversee SSP's legal, policy, compliance and regulatory affairs.

"Jag's background spans a broad spectrum of commercial industries where he has gained extensive experience working with both established and emerging growth companies," said Les Cappetta, president and CEO of SSP America. "His expertise is a great match for SSP's diverse business and growth agenda as we strengthen and focus our opportunities throughout the U.S. and Canada."

Singh holds a juris doctor degree from Villanova University School of Law and a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Richmond in Virginia. He is a member of the State Bars of Virginia and the District of Columbia.

SSP operates more than 200 brands, including Upper Crust, Burger King, M&S Simply Food, Millie's Cookies, O'Learys and more.
