For the fourth year in a row, Straw Hat Pizza has added a little extra pizzazz to elementary school students' Valentine's boxes.
The company donated 450,000 Valentine’s Day cards offering a complimentary heart-shaped personal pizza. Cards were given to elementary teachers to reward positive student behavior and achievement, said John Fornaci, president of Straw Hat Pizza.
Schools that benefitted from the giveaway were located within a 3-mile radius of all 72 Straw Hat locations.
Each elementary school received approximately 300 cards for students 13 years old and younger.
In addition to the Valentine’s Day card/free pizza promotion, Straw Hat Pizza also offers tours and fundraisers for kids.
Straw Hat Pizza recently opened new California locations in San Ramon, Fairfield, Fresno and Apple Valley. The company, which has plans to reach 150 locations in two years, also has new locations opening in Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Montana, New Jersey, New York and Texas.
