Taylor Company hosting ice cream training course

Known for its innovations in the frozen dessert and beverage industry, Taylor Company is co-sponsoring "Tharp & Young on Ice Cream." a five-day technical course to train industry professionals on essential components of the frozen treat. The course, organized by the Food Science & Technology Programme at the National University of Singapore, is June 10-14.

Dr. Bruce Tharp, president, Tharp’s Food Technology and Dr. Steven Young, principal, Steven Young Worldwide will lead the comprehensive course that covers all aspects of the frozen dessert industry, including product development, quality assurance, production, marketing, sales, finance and general management, according to a company press release.

"Attendees will gain a better understanding of ingredients and the purchasing of product mix as it relates to and affects equipment functionality. Best practices and trends, from ingredient selection and functionality to production, flavoring, quality assurance and safety management will be covered," said Jimmy Chen, director, sales, Pan Pacific Rim, Taylor Company. "We are proud to sponsor a learning opportunity such as this."

Held every two years in Asia, the course draws experienced and new professionals including suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, sales managers, professors, food technologists and entrepreneurs from the frozen desserts industry, as well as Taylor  Company’s authorized distributors, such as PT Mastrada, Simplex, Taylor Food Service Shanghai and Examas.
