The Horton Group hosts food-product-recall workshop

ORLAND PARK, Ill. -- The Horton Group is hosting "Terror at the Table" -- a food product recall workshop, on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, at its Waukesha, Wis., location and Thursday, Aug. 14, at its Orland Park, Ill., location. The complimentary workshop will provide information on the unique exposures faced by food, beverage and ingredient processors as well as contract manufacturers and co-packers.
 
This workshop is designed for business owners, CEOs, CFOs, and risk, crisis and quality managers in the food and beverage industry. Featured speakers include Steve Gruler, founder and president of Global Quality Consulting Inc., and Bernhard Stevens, senior vice president of Colemont Insurance Brokers of Illinois. Stevens is recognized as one of the country's leading product recall, contamination and food-borne illness insurance specialists.
 
During the workshops these experts will address each product type and review the exposure from a first- and third-party standpoint, as well as a contractual standpoint. Potential solutions will be offered -- both pre-incident preparedness to minimize the exposure and crisis response options to minimize potential damage in the worst-case scenario. Insurance risk and transfer options also will be reviewed, with a discussion on how this "financial safety net" can be combined with preparedness and crisis management services to provide a complete risk-management solution.
