Uncle Maddio's Pizza Joint is showing the love to customers — and dozens of local charity partners — with its new fresh-baked "Love Cookies." As part of the introduction of the new Love Cookie, Uncle Maddio's is partnering with local charities and donating 10 percent of their sales during the month of December, according to a company press release.
The chocolate chip, 6-inch cookie was created by Uncle Maddio's chef Alex Cook.
"It's the most wonderful time of the year to 'Serve with Love,'" Uncle Maddio's Pizza Joint founder and Chief Pizza Maker Matt Andrew said in the release. "Uncle Maddio's Pizza Joint and our franchisee partners love helping our local communities. We hope to make a big impact by selling as many Love Cookies as possible, so the donation of 25 cents for every cookie sold system-wide goes a long way in spreading joy this December."
The 12 Atlanta-area Uncle Maddio's Pizza Joint locations will donate their Love Cookie proceeds to Ronald McDonald House, Angels Among Us Pet Rescue, Clifton Sanctuary Ministries Covenant House, The Special Olympics, No Longer Bound and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta. Locations in Charlotte, N.C.; Knoxville, Tenn.; Tallahassee, Fla.; and Columbia, S.C., have also identified local charities.
Now operating 18 locations since its inception in 2009, Uncle Maddio's has another 165 units in development, according to the chain.
