Uno Chicago Grill adding steak, new salads to menu

BOSTON -- Continuing its ongoing and gradual rebranding campaign, Pizzeria Uno, which now calls itself Uno Chicago Grill, is adding a 16-ounce boneless New York Strip steak -- its largest-ever steak meal -- to the menu at all 191 locations.

According to a release, the steak sells for $13.99, the same price it charged for a 14-ounce sirloin it's replacing.

Other newly introduced menu items include Lobster Pie and Lobster & Shrimp Rolls (available in New England only), salads topped with grilled chicken, shrimp, Teriyaki salmon, steak or lobster, as well as an assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

"Our new spring menu highlights our Chicago grill heritage and our commitment to serving the best food around," Uno Chicago Grill executive chef Chris Gatto said in the release. "And, of course, customers can still get our world famous Chicago deep dish pizza."

Despite gaining notoriety for its Chicago-style deep-dish pizza, the new menu items mark the chain's latest efforts to position itself as a casual restaurant concept rather than a pizza concept.
