Venice Bakery expands gluten-free pizza line to the UK

Venice Bakery UK will showcase its new "Free From" pizza crust at the International Food and Drink event in London March 17-20.

The crust is "free from" gluten, wheat, dairy, soy, corn and egg. According to the company, the secret recipe is created with elasticity, which means when cooked, it yields a crispy crust unlike other gluten-free bases on the market.

The launch of Venice Bakery UK's bases offers retailers, restaurants and wholesalers the ability to join the growing market aimed at consumers who are wheat intolerant, dairy free or who have celiac disease. All of the company's crusts are made in a dedicated gluten-free facility and are accredited by both the Celiac Sprue Association of America and Coeliac UK.

"We're delighted to launch Venice Bakery gluten-free and dairy-free pizza bases in the UK. No longer do those with dietary requirements need to feel isolated when it comes to food choices. Our bases are free of many common allergens yet remain flavorful so the whole family can enjoy (them)," said Adam Martyn, managing director of Venice Bakery UK.
