Worksman Cycles upgrades pizza delivery bikes

Worksman Cycles, a 114-year old manufacturer of industrial grade bicycles and tricycles, has announced upgrades to its classic pizza delivery bicycle – the Worksman Low Gravity Series.

The Low Gravity bikes are selling in record numbers as more restaurants are turning to delivery services for an added revenue source, according to the company.

The Low Gravity includes a large, lockable front steel cabinet (available with top or side loading capabilities), frame mounted cabinet for level and safe transport of foods, and distinctive steel triangle parking stand that holds the bike upright and level when parked.

The Low Gravity Bicycle has also received several upgrades for more durability. These include polycarbonate fenders that virtually eliminate denting and corrosion, black powder-coated handlebars, cranks and sprockets for greater corrosion resistance. Also available are Worksman's "airless technology" tires that eliminate flat tires.

The Low Gravity Series, also known as the New York City Pizza Bike, is now being used by restaurants serving all types of food from burgers to sushi.

"With the available full vinyl wrapping, the bikes serve a dual purpose of being a rolling billboard on city streets in addition to delivering food in the most efficient way," said Wayne Sosin, president of Worksman.

Worksman Cycles was established in New York City in 1898 and continues to manufacture its products in NYC. In addition to industrial grade cycles, Worksman also manufactures consumer cycles and a full line of mobile food vending units from hot dog carts to fully-featured food trucks.
