Locu, a producer of menu dashboards for local merchants, has announced a partnership with Yelp, according to a Locu press release.
Yelp's menus and listings data will now be enhanced with Locu's up-to-date information about small businesses, and Locu will provide restaurants the ability to distribute and update their menus to Yelp, which had more than 100 million unique visitors as of January 2013, according to Google Analytics.
Locu brings restaurant menus to Yelp in near real time, and will bring price lists and business information for independent merchants across additional categories including shopping, home and local services, and beauty and fitness in the near future, said Yelp Vice President of Business Development Mike Ghaffary.
"Integrating Locu's up-to-date menus and price lists on Yelp business profile pages will help ensure consumers have access to even more information about great local businesses," he said. "With Locu's menus on Yelp, consumers can not only find a great restaurant on Yelp, they can actually plan their meal before they arrive."
Locu CEO Rene Reinsberg said the company wanted to help restaurants get discovered by as many potential consumers as possible.
"Our partnership with Yelp will help serve the needs of our restaurant customers as well as our growing numbers of customers in other local business verticals," Reinsberg said.
Locu's customers can design, update and manage their menus using Locu's easy-to-use interface. With Locu's distribution capabilities, customers can then share their menus across their websites, mobile sites, and other partner sites, getting their menus in front of millions of consumers across the Web, Reinsberg said.
The ability to distribute menus on Yelp, along with additional features, services and support, are available to Locu Premium customers. More than 15,000 local merchants have signed up for Locu since it launched late last year.
