According to a news release, the $5 million acquisition includes Pasta Bravo's recipes, cooking platform and trademarks of the quick-casual concept, but no restaurant assets.
Pasta Bravo's 15 units serve fresh pastas and salads, including individual meals, family dinners and takeout Bravo Buckets of pasta and sauce.
The operations are located in the San Diego-Orange County area.
Yum hasn't indicated where Pasta Bravo will fit into its operations, but the company did pair its products with a Pizza Hut operation's in Pennsylvania last summer.
The Pasta Bravo concept will be managed by Yum's multi-branding team, which is led by chief multi-branding and operating officer Aylwin Lewis.
