LYNDEN, WA, October 11, 2011—A new release of SpeedLine 6.3 is dedicated to smooth transitions: delivering the flexibility and scalability restaurant companies need for a cost-effective POS implementation.

New report options let restaurant operators tailor sales reporting to match their metrics and methods. Include or exclude items such as coupon books or charity donation vouchers in Net Sales reporting, and see separate totals for non-taxable items such as take-and-bake pizzas.
Chains with web and mobile ordering can choose to process payments online, or immediately authorize at the store. Swipe a loyalty card at any time in the order. Activate advance orders at set times, or all at once.
Managing service levels is simplified with new choices for setting quoted ready times for delivery and pickup orders: allow the system to calculate times automatically based on kitchen load, or give staff the ability to enter a quoted time or number of minutes for each order.

The new release makes ticket-level food cost detail easily accessible to corporate systems for analysis. A new menu item tagging system allows for more flexible custom reporting at head office. Auditors can easily track down issues with the new, full ticket images maintained in the head office database for every customer transaction.
Other enhancements streamline administration and reduce costs. Encrypted paycard data rolls up to head office for cost-effective payroll—a popular payment method for young staff without bank accounts. New employee data validation and security settings reduce payroll errors and related costs, and ensure compliance with new personal privacy regulations. And chains that connect with stores via VPN can increase online ordering margins with a PCI compliant online ordering firewall at head office—receiving and distributing web and mobile orders without the cost of a DMZ computer and firewall at each location.
