Toledo, Ohio-based Marco’s Pizza opened more than 60 new units in 2012, with ambitious plans for even more accelerated growth in the next few years. CEO Jack Butorac has not been shy about wanting to move into the No. 4 spot in the pizza category, behind just Domino’s, Papa John’s and Pizza Hut. Right now, Marco’s is ranked No. 19 in revenue. In February 2012, the company announced an agreement with Glenview, Ill.-based Family Video to put Marco’s shops in the movie rental company’s locations. Privately-held Family Video plans to invest $100 million in the effort. Initial plans call for the companies to open 250 Marco’s locations in or near Family Video stores within seven years.
