LOS ANGELES — California Pizza Kitchen turned in solid increases in comparable-store sales, revenue and profit for the 52 weeks ended Jan. 1, 2006.
According to a regulatory filing, comps-increased 7.5 percent for the period, revenue rose 13.5 percent to $479.6 million (versus $422.4 million), and net income of was $19.5 million compared to $17.8 million. (Fiscal 2004 was a 53-week year for CPK.)
For the 13 weeks ended Jan. 1, 2006, comps rose 5.3 percent, revenues increased 8.9 percent to $125.4 million (versus $115.1 million), but net income was $3.5 million, down 39 percent from $5.7 million posted in the same quarter last year.
The company said development in 2006 will focus primarily on full-service CPK units and continued strategic development of its fast-casual concept, CPK ASAP.
