IRVING, Texas — CEC Entertainment, Inc. announced that comparable-store sales at Chuck E. Cheese's came in flat at 0.4 percent for its third quarter ended Sept. 26.
According to a news release, revenues — boosted by new store openings — rose 7.9 percent from $170.1 million in the same period last year, to $183.6 million this year.
Net income in the comparable period spiked 23 percent to $22 million in the quarter, up from $16.8 million in the same period in 2003.
For the first nine months of 2004, revenues increased to $556 million, up from $507.1 million in the comparable period. Net income was $69.7 million, up from $59 million in the same period of 2003.
There are 487 Chuck E. Cheese's restaurants operating in 48 U.S. states.
