ANN ARBOR, Mich. — For the second year in a row, Domino's Pizza reported soft fourth-quarter same-store sales at its U.S. stores. According to a regulatory filing, for the quarter ended Jan. 1, comps rose 1.7 percent (comprised of a 3.3 percent increase at company-owned stores and a 1.5 percent gain at franchised stores) compared to minus 0.2 percent for the period in 2004.
For full-year 2005, comps increased 4.9 percent (comprised of a 7.1 percent increase at company-owned stores and a 4.6 percent gain at franchised stores) compared to an increase of 1.8 percent in 2004 (comprised of a rise of 0.1 percent at company-owned stores and 2.1 percent at franchised stores).
International comps rose 3.8 percent for 4Q and 6.1 percent for all of 2005. The advance marked the chain's twelfth-straight year of international same-store sales increases.
In 2004, international comps rose 5.9 percent.
