Accusations of animal abuse arise at Papa John’s, Domino’s dairy suppliers

September 18, 2014

An animal protection organization this week released an undercover video showing animal abuse at Winchester Dairy, which provides milk to Leprino Foods. Leprino Foods is a cheese supplier for Papa John's, Domino's Pizza and Pizza Hut.

The organization, Mercy for Animals, is urging the pizza chains to implement animal welfare standards after the video, which showed workers kicking, stabbing and punching cows.

New Mexico-based Winchester Dairy supplies milk to Denver-based Leprino Foods, which according to a news release is the world's largest maker of mozzarella cheese.

Law enforcement authorities were provided with the footage and they are currently investigating the allegations, the release said.
