DURHAM, N.C. -- Amante Gourmet Pizza is planning to add eight to 10 North Carolina stores in the next two years through franchising.
According to the Business Journal of Raleigh/Durham, Amante currently has three locations in Carrboro, Durham and Morrisville.
A statement from Amante said the company wants owner-operators from each city to run its stores.
"Although the economy is in a slowdown, Amante Gourmet Pizza had record sales at all of our stores last year," Ramon Soler, franchise marketing director, said in a statement. "Families may have cut out the fine-dining aspect of their budget and opted for pizza instead. We've been able to thrive in a recessionary environment."
