Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza celebrates 28th location

South Florida-based Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza celebrated the opening of its 28th unit earlier this week in Woodbury, N.Y. The grand opening event included an appearance from founder Anthony Bruno's partner and former NFL quarterback Dan Marino.

According to Patch.com, Bruno is a Franklin Square, N.Y., native who moved to Florida 30 years ago to pursue his pizza business.

According to the chain's website, Anthony's pizzas are cooked in a proprietary 800-degree, coal-burning oven that provides a "well done flavor."

Most of Anthony's locations are in Florida, with two in Delaware, two in New Jersey, three in New York and one in New Jersey. More locations are planned for New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
