Artichoke Basille's Pizza to open near Rutgers University

Artichoke Basille's Pizza will open its third New Jersey location on Aug. 30. The restaurant, located at 104 Easton Avenue in New Brunswick, sits near the heart of the Rutgers University campus, according to a press release.

The restaurant will celebrate the restaurant's grand opening by donating 10% of all-day sales to the Rutgers University Foundation in support of the Scarlet Promise Grants program that helps students in need of financial aid fulfill their potential.

The location is owned and operated by franchisees Premal and Leela Shanghvi, who own two other Artichoke locations.

"We opened our first New Jersey location in Hoboken back in 2019, and it's been a blessing to now open a third location in such a great spot for students and the New Brunswick community," Premal Shanghvi said in the press release. "We discovered Artichoke back in 2017 as guests waiting for a slice of pizza on a cold night. We were drawn to the charm and the simplicity of the menu and, before we knew it, we applied and became the first franchisee in New Jersey. This location in New Brunswick is just a block from College Avenue on the main campus, and as a proud graduate of Rutgers University myself, I'm so excited to be back here. We're also thrilled to partner with the Rutgers University Foundation and give back some of our opening day sales to such a wonderful cause as the Scarlet Promise Grants that helps students assimilate to college experience. We're both confident that the students will fall in love with the Artichoke Pie and we can't wait to share an authentic 'taste of New York' with the community."

Artichoke Basille's Pizza has 16 locations in New York, New Jersey, Arizona and California.
