According to a news release, the handheld unit allows the complete payment transaction to occur in front of the customer, including the printing of receipts. The customer never loses sight of his credit card during payment.
Mobile payment processing is ideally suited for full-service restaurants, stadiums, cocktail bars and other hospitality environments where payment is processed away from the customer. It is also applicable in fast-food establishments seeking to reduce cue times.
"We feel that we have already set the standard in tableside order-taking with our patented handwriting approach (and) mobile payment processing simply closes the loop," said ASI chief executive Alex Malison.
