A three-wheeled 1982 Vespa-truck converted into a pizza-making machine has taken to the streets of Atlanta, according to a company press release.
Alessio Lacco and Sofia Arango, a young couple from Atlanta, decided to start Atlanta Pizza Truck in March as a way to bring a little taste of Italy to Atlanta customers who weren't allowed to dine-in thanks to COVID-19.
Alessio Lacco, master pizzaiolo, hails from Naples, Italy, where he trained to create soft, tender crust cooked in a blistering hot 900-degree wood-burning oven.
Sofia Arango is originally from Caracas, Venezuela, and handles marketing and social presence for the business. The couple travels to bring Pizza Napoletana to private events, neighborhood pop-ups, festivals and more.
The pies cook in just a minute, so the Vespa team can make up to 80 pizzas per hour, according to the release.
