Earlier this week, we told you about an automated taco technology, and here comes the automated cocktails to go with it. Portland, Oregon-based Easybar is an automated cocktail station that allows servers to pour perfectly portioned cocktails in seconds with the tap of a touchscreen. Punch in "Long Island Iced Tea" or "gin and tonic" and presto, magico, that's what it dispenses in all the right proportions.

"Our new Easybar Automated Cocktail Station is the most efficient way for large-scale bars and venues to maximize servers' time, reduce product waste, ensure consistency and improve overall customer experience," Easybar CEO James Nicol said in a news release. "This past year made it more clear than ever that automation is the future of the bar industry, and we're excited to have our Cocktail Station at the forefront of that movement."

The touchscreen system is programmable to customize recipes and procedures to suit each bar's needs, interfacing directly with a bar's existing point-of-sale system. Forty-eight different brands or bottles can be connected to a system at any given time. The company emphasized, as well, that the touchscreen and tower of the unit where the beverage is dispensed, occupy small footprints since bar top space at most pizzerias and other establishments is always prime real estate.

Easybar's safety features include specialized liquor pumps that do not pressurize liquor lines to ensure runaway leaks don't pose either a fire danger or massive product loss, according to the company. The company reports that it has already installed the technology in a number of casinos, resorts and stadiums nationally, including Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Encore Boston Harbor Luxury Casino and Hotel, and Muckleshoot Casino in Washington, with others set to come on line as dining restrictions lift.

Easybar has been around for 40 years though, providing bar and liquid dispensing systems across the restaurant industry.
