Online food ordering service platform, BellyMelly, is expanding into event venues, amusement parks, sport stadiums and arenas to give those attending and working at live events a touchless way to order food and drinks, a news release said.
The platform is designed to help live event venues run more efficiently by using QR code-based mobile ordering tech that doesn't require apps or registration and eliminates concession lines. It also means guests won't have to miss part of the live action on the stage or field while getting food and drink. All BellyMelly transactions are made through a mobile phone, eliminating the need to pass cash down the row or stand in concession lines.
The company explained how its tools work through the following four steps:
Scan: Users' mobile phones scan QR codes on armrests or seat backs to access the ordering page.
Order: Users make menu selections via their phone's browsers, then enter their seat numbers for delivery.
Pay: Without registering, users securely pay for orders and tips with their cards.
Delivery: Orders are delivered to the seats specified.
"We have seen huge success in the adoption of our contactless technology among restaurants, and with sporting events and concerts back on the horizon, we saw an incredible opportunity to expand into this market," BellyMelly Founder David Litchman said in the release. "The technology is a win-win for everyone involved — from keeping vendors and staff safe to giving patrons the ultimate game-watching experience."
