Blaze Pizza wins Emerging Entrepreneur award

The eight recipients employ approximately 2,700 people and have increased their workforce by more than 50 percent and revenues by 90 percent over the last two years.

EY announced the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year award recipients in Greater Los Angeles, according to a company press release, and Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza's Elise Wetzel and Richard Wetzel, co-founders and co-CEOs of the brand, won in the Emerging category.

The company selected winners by an independent judge panel made up of leading founders and CEOs that were previous award recipients, private equity and venture capital investors and regional business leaders.

The eight recipients employ approximately to 2,700 people and have increased their workforce by more than 50 percent and revenues by 90 percent over the last two years, according to the release.

"At EY, we believe that entrepreneurs have the power to change lives and improve society," said April Spencer, EY partner and co-director of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards Program in Greater Los Angeles. "The drive and enthusiasm of these entrepreneurs is truly impressive and we are honored to have the opportunity to help share their stories."

Regional award recipients are eligible for consideration for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year national program, to be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, California on Nov. 14, 2015. The US Entrepreneur Of The Year Overall Award recipient will then compete for the World Entrepreneur Of The Year Award in June in Monaco.
