Blue Pan to open 3rd location in Golden, Colorado

Detroit-style pizza brand Blue Pan will open a unit in Golden, Colorado, according to a report in The Denver Post. Blue Pan currently has two locations.

"Buying the property was really important to us because as it relates to real estate costs and rent, we're able to have way more control as a small business," Giles Flanigan, co-owner, told the news outlet. "Our business now is not dependent on leasing other people's real estate, which was a goal of ours for several years. It provides a better pillar of stability for Blue Pan."

Flanigan owns Blue Pan with Jeff Smokevitch. The upcoming location had already been a pizzeria, so it won't need too much work to create a location for Blue Pan.

"Golden has a great demographic," Flanigan told The Denver Post. "I've lived out there for nine years. When we moved to my old street in 2013, we were the only family on the street, but by the time we moved, we were one of eight. So there's a migration going on of families, which is our target market."
