For the 17th straight year, Boston Pizza added new locations last year, according to a news release. Boston Pizza Royalties Income Fund and Boston Pizza International Inc. said that on Jan. 1, 2019 the fund’s royalty pool includes 10 new Canadian full-service restaurants opened in 2018 and five permanently closed locations in that same year. The royalty pool now includes 396 Boston Pizza restaurants. This is the 17th consecutive year of adding new Boston Pizza restaurants into the Royalty Pool.
In 2018, the brand opened five western Canada locations, three restaurants in the eastern section of the nation and two in Quebec. The estimated annual franchise revenues in 2019 for the new locations opened in 2018 is $18.7 million.
