RACINE, Minn.—Either pizza is going to the dogs or a dog owner is finding it convenient to blame a near-tragedy on his defenseless canine.
According to The Associated Press, a southern Minnesota homeowner blamed his pooch for igniting a fire that caused minor damage to his kitchen. Mower County authorities said Chad Thomason believes his dog lit a gas burner on his stove while leaping up to get a pizza stored there.
Thomason extinguished the blaze before firefighters could get to his house. Damage to the kitchen was pegged at $200.
