California Pizza Kitchen projects loss for Q4

LOS ANGELES – Comparable-store sales at California Pizza Kitchen Inc. restaurants fell 7.2 percent in the company's fourth quarter ended Dec. 28, compared to a 1.8 percent increase in the previous year's fourth quarter.
Revenues decreased 0.7 percent to $161.7 million for the quarter, compared to revenues of $162.9 million reported in Q4 2007.
Based on fourth quarter revenue and comp results, management expects to post a net loss of 22 cents to 25 cents per diluted share for the quarter.The company intends to release its fourth quarter earnings Feb. 12 at approximately 4 p.m. Eastern time with a conference call to follow.
