California Pizza Kitchen is celebrating National Pizza Month with the return of its roasted garlic chicken pizza and shrimp scampi pizzas.
October 6, 2015
California Pizza Kitchen is celebrating National Pizza Month this October by bringing back two fan favorite pizzas: the roasted garlic chicken pizza and shrimp scampi pizza.
First introduced in 2010, the roasted garlic chicken pizza features caramelized onions, grilled pulled chicken breast, mozzarella and parmesan cheese, scallions and cracked black pepper, according to a company release. The reinvented shrimp scampi pizza, which debuted in 2001, features garlic shrimp, garlic cream sauce, caramelized onions, mozzarella and parmesan cheese, red chili, arugula and Greek oregano.
"We’re the creators of California-style pizza and have always been known for setting pizza trends with our unique, innovative toppings and flavor combinations, like the iconic original BBQ chicken pizza we invented in 1985 or our globally inspired pizzas like the Thai chicken and Jamaican jerk. Our roasted garlic chicken and shrimp scampi pizzas are no exception, which is why they’ve become fan favorites," said Brian Sullivan, senior VP of culinary innovation at California Pizza Kitchen. "So many of our loyal customers have asked us to bring back these unique pizzas over the years, so for National Pizza Month we’ve reimagined the recipes and amped up the flavor with ingredients like peppery wild arugula, grilled white-meat chicken, plump, tender shrimp and fragrant wild Greek oregano that we pull fresh off the stem, all baked on top of our hand-tossed pizza dough. We invite our guests to join us for a delicious trip down memory lane, and make some new memories with these reinvented classics."
The shrimp scampi pizza will be available through Nov. 2. The roasted garlic chicken pizza will become a permanent menu item at participating California Pizza Kitchen locations.
California Pizza Kitchen has nearly 300 restaurants in 15 countries.
