California Pizza Kitchen sneaks veggies into kids meals via cauliflower crust

California Pizza Kitchen's is taking its cauliflower pizza crust down a notch. The chain said today it will offer a smaller, 7-inch size for its CPKids Meals and Lunch Duos, a news release said.

"As a parent myself, I know that trying to get kids to eat vegetables can be a real challenge when all they want to eat is pizza," California Pizza Kitchen Senior Vice President of Culinary Innovation Brian Sullivan, said in the release. "This delicious new veggie-based crust is a win-win."

Aside from the kids meals, the chain's Lunch Duos allow diners to pair lunch-sized versions of a favorite pizza or sandwich with a soup or salad, weekdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cauliflower Pizza Crust can be ordered on any CPKids or Lunch Duo pizza in place of classic hand-tossed dough for an additional $1.50.

The 7-inch Cauliflower Pizza Crust is available at participating U.S. locations, excluding airport, stadium, university, and hotel locations.

The chain now has more than 250 restaurants in 13 countries and U.S. territories.
