In honor of World Bullying Prevention Month, California Pizza Kitchen is teaming with STOMP Out Bullying, a national anti-bullying and cyberbullying organization for kids and teens in the U.S., with a national fundraiser.
CPK will donate 20% of sales from all U.S. restaurants, from dine-in, take-out or order online, to STOMP Out Bullying, with an additional 5% donation whenever a guest wears blue, STOMP Out Bullying's signature color, in-store. To participate, guests simply need to mention STOMP Out Bullying or enter code "STOMP" when ordering online. In tandem, CPK will be lighting up several of its LA-area locations in blue to show support for victims of bullying.
In addition to the national fundraiser, CPK and STOMP Out Bullying will make a special appearance at the Los Angeles Dodgers game on Oct. 3 against the Milwaukee Brewers to raise awareness and put a stop to all bullying and discrimination. STOMP Out Bullying's 300-person team of ambassadors, staff and supporters will be in attendance, and CPK CEO Jim Hyatt will be throwing out the first pitch.
"At California Pizza Kitchen, we want to create an environment where everyone feels safe, including CPK team members, our partners, and our guests," Hyatt said in the release. "That's why we are excited to partner with STOMP Out Bullying and help bring awareness to their powerful message of kindness and inclusivity. And we look forward to welcoming all of our guests to our CPK locations for our national STOMP Out Bullying fundraiser on Oct. 4."
"Bullying continues to be a pervasive issue in our nation, but by partnering with CPK during World Bullying Prevention Month, we're able to bring our message to even more people and positively impact many young lives," Ross Ellis, founder and CEO of STOMP Out Bullying, said in the release. "Working with companies that share our mission to spread kindness and eradicate hate of any kind is incredibly rewarding. At the end of the day, we hope our work together lets people who may be struggling know that they're not alone, and encourages all to be kind, not just during World Bullying Prevention Month."
