CALGARY, Alberta — Despite boosting systemwide sales for fiscal 2005, 250-unit Canada's Pizza Delivery Corp., a franchisor of Domino's Pizza in Canada, posted a loss for the 12 months ended March 27, 2005.
According to a news release, the group's sales totaled CAN $135 million (U.S. $110.7 million) for the period, up more than 9 percent on the prior year. It lost, however, CAN $344,000 (U.S. $282,105), about half what it lost last year.
The group's management attributed some of its woes to the National Hockey League lockout.
Management's goal for fiscal 2006 is to accelerate franchised store growth and boost brand awareness.
