DELAND, Fla. -- Florida-based Captain Tony's Pizza Inc. is expanding into the Western Pacific with a franchisee in Saipan, part of the Northern Mariana Islands.

Captain Tony's launched an aggressive national and international franchise program last year, according to a company news release. The company expects to open more restaurants in the island area, which has little competition, said Michael J. Martella, Captain Tony's founder and president.

Captain Tony's operates 10 stores in New York, Ohio, Florida, California, Arizona and Great Britain.
