When you think about the Midwest, corn is probably one of the first things that come to mind — lots and lots of corn. Convenience-based brand, Casey's General Store, is capitalizing on that notion with its new Midwest Mystery Pizza loaded with all kinds of pork, as well as, you guessed it, corn.

The Iowa-based chain is introducing the unusual pizza combination Sept. 1 featuring pulled pork, bacon, Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce and fire-roasted corn.

"Casey's is based in the heart of the Midwest, and we really wanted to showcase this with the ingredients on our new Midwest Mystery Pizza," Casey's Vice President of Digital Experience Art Sebastian, said in the release.

Hundreds of responses came in when Casey's asked social media followers earlier this month to guess what might end up on a so-called Midwest Mystery pie. Now it will launch a Name-Our-Pizza contest when it starts selling the new corn-and-pork aplenty pie. The author of the winning name wins free Casey's pizza for a year.

"We've had fun engaging with people on social media about what the ingredients might be and we're excited to hear what they come up with for names once they've tried it." Sebastian said of the contest which runs Sept. 1- Sept. 14. Three names will be put to a public vote after that, with the winner announced on Sept. 28. Casey's now has 2,100 stores in 16 Midwest states.
