ChefTec Software adds Allergen Alerts solution
September 10, 2009
Culinary Software Services Inc., provider of back-of-house technology for the foodservice industry, has announced the addition of Allergen Alerts to its ChefTec software.
Under the Food Allergen Labeling & Consumer Protection Act, the FDA requires food labels to clearly state if food products contain any ingredients from the eight major allergenic foods.
Labels are required to identify the presence of ingredients that contain protein derived from milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat and soybeans. Allergen Alerts in ChefTec allows users to generate this important information easily and efficiently.
"Each year, millions of Americans have allergic reactions to food," said Brian Bennett, president of Culinary Software Services. "We are excited to add this functionality to ChefTec so our users can help keep their customers safe."
Culinary Software will feature its ChefTec Software at the Hospitality Financial & Technology Professionals Annual Convention and Tradeshow in Las Vegas Sept. 16-17.
