Chicago cabbies get freebies from Gino's East

CHICAGO -- In a pizza battleground like the Windy City, sometimes you've got to give a little away to get a lot of customers to the door.

Acknowledging the city's cab drivers are some of its best ambassadors, the Original Gino's Eastof Chicago is hosting a Cab Driver Day on June 11, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Servers will hand out free mini deep-dish pizzas to all cab drivers arriving curbside at its 633 North Wells location during those hours.

The giveaway also should serve to remind cabbies that the 11-store deep-dish chain's legendary flagship store, opened in 1966, was moved from Superior Street to the North Wells spot late last year.
