Chuck E. Cheese has introduced new initiatives to enhance accessibility for deaf and hard-of-hearing children. In partnership with the American Society for Deaf Children (ASDC), the company is introducing sign-along videos, fundraising efforts and employee training programs.

New sing-along videos

Starting in September, Chuck E. Cheese will release sign-along videos in American Sign Language (ASL) on its YouTube channel and in-store media platforms. These videos aim to provide a more inclusive experience for all children.

Fundraising for ASDC

Throughout September, Chuck E. Cheese locations will host fundraisers to benefit ASDC. Guests can donate by rounding up their purchases or mentioning "ASDC" at checkout on September 29th. A portion of proceeds will support ASDC's mission of empowering deaf and hard-of-hearing children.

Employee training

This fall, Chuck E. Cheese employees will receive training on deaf culture, ASL greetings and best practices for serving deaf and hard-of-hearing guests. The goal is to create a more welcoming and inclusive environment for all visitors.

"At Chuck E. Cheese, we believe in creating fun and memorable experiences for every child and family," Alejandra Brady, senior director of communications and DEI, CEC Entertainment, said in the press release. "Our partnership with the American Society for Deaf Children reflects our commitment to inclusivity and accessibility. We're excited about these new initiatives and look forward to continuing our support for the deaf community and beyond."

Cheri Dowling, Executive Director of ASDC, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration.

"At the American Society for Deaf Children, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to experience joy and connection in spaces that embrace their unique needs," Downing said in the press release. "Our partnership with Chuck E. Cheese is a testament to our shared dedication to inclusivity and accessibility. We're thrilled to work together on these exciting new initiatives and to continue advocating for environments where Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing children can thrive and create lasting memories."

Chuck E. Cheese has nearly 600 fun centers in 45 states and 17 foreign countries and territories.
