Chuck E. Cheese gambling lawsuit dropped

The San Diego, Calif., mom who filed a lawsuit against Chuck E. Cheese's last week claiming the chain participates in illegal gambling activities has dropped the claim.

According to ImperfectParent.com, Denise Keller, a mother of two, voluntarily dropped the suit Thursday against CEC Entertainment Inc., parent company of Chuck E. Cheese's.

Prior to the dismissal, she sought about $5 million in damages, claiming many games at the kid-friendly pizza chain are reminiscent of casino-style games and therefore violate state and federal laws.

It wasn't noted why the lawsuit was dismissed specifically, however public opinion seemed to be unfavorable toward the mom's action.

CEC released the following statement about the dismissal, saying:

"Chuck E. Cheese's has just found out through a court filing that Ms. Keller voluntarily dismissed her legal action against us today. We steadfastly believe that her claims had no merit, and we were willing to vigorously defend ourselves against those claims. We are proud to be a family friendly environment and the place where a kid can be a kid! Finally, we wish to thank all of our fans for your support and for making us what we are today."
