Chuck E. Cheese's announces four new openings

Chuck E. Cheese's announced it opened four new restaurants across the country on Dec. 30. According to a news release, the restaurants add a total of 61,007 square feet of real estate to the chain's 571-store global footprint.

The new restaurants are located at 5539 S. Williamson Blvd. in Port Orange, Fla.; 2471 Okeechobee Blvd. Building A in West Palm Beach, Fla.; 1910 Zaragoza in El Paso, Texas; and 700 Exterior St. in the Bronx, NY.

"2013 has been an incredible year for us, and we're thrilled to bring more smiles, memories and hours of fun to families," said Les Lehner, vice president of real estate, CEC Entertainment Inc. "The company is experiencing an exciting period of growth and development that brings clean, safe, whole family fun to more communities. We strategically place stores where we know a large number of young families will benefit from a place to gather and the locations provide a great venue for groups to give back to kids' education in communities through our fundraising program."

Each of the new restaurants feature more than 70 games, including Akra Boat, Fruit Ninja, Guitar Hero, Power Drop, NBA Hoops and Skee-ball. They also include the new Circle of Lights stage, a fully digital, screen-based entertainment package showcasing the updated Chuck E. Cheese rock star character voiced by Bowling for Soup front man, Jaret Reddick.

The Florida restaurants are the first Chuck E. Cheese's stores in Port Orange and West Palm Beach, making a total of 29 locations in the state. Additionally, the new Bronx location is the borough's second restaurant, which now totals 23 in New York. The El Paso store joins two other Chuck E. Cheese's restaurants in the city.

Chuck E. Cheese's opened 13 new restaurants in the U.S. in 2013 and has plans to open additional restaurants domestically and internationally in the first quarter of 2014.
