Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza opens unit 500

IRVING, Texas — Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza has opened its 500th unit.

According to a news release, the chain's newest "eatertainment" site is in Glendale, Ariz. It occupies 12,060 square feet, seats 440 and employs 60 to 70 full and part-time employees.

Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza started in 1977 in San Jose, Calif. Today the company operates in 48 states; 454 of those sites are company-owned and 46 are franchised.
