Cooks, servers, bartenders hardest positions to fill

The top three jobs restaurants are striving to fill are servers, cooks/line cooks and bartenders, with cooks topping the list, accorind to a 7shifts report.

Twenty-six percent of restaurants are looking for cooks and line cooks, 17% are trying to hire servers and 7% looking for bartenders, according to a press release on the report data. The hardest positions for fill for restaurants are cooks and line cooks, managers and bartenders. Just 23% of cooks and line cooks postings have applications, 37% of manager postings have applications and 56% of bartenders postings have applications.

In the report 7shift offers these tips for hiring:

The report included data from over 18,000 restaurant locations and 500,000 restaurant employees worldwide, with 90%-plus from North America. Restaurant jobs data of more than 2,400 postings were taken from approximately 1,800 restaurants across North America, as well as Canada and the U.S. from June 1 to August 22.
